Blog Tour with Guest Post and Giveaway ~ Dark Hope by H.D. Smith

DARK HOPE
The Devil’s Assistant, Book 1
Publisher: www.ChampagneBooks.com
Publication Date: March 3, 2014

Loving a demon isn’t the end of the world—losing him is.

Claire, the Devil’s assistant, knows very little about the world she was dropped into five years ago, when she inherited her mother’s unpaid debt to the Demon King. She certainly didn’t expect to be a contender for the Fallen Queen’s throne, a target for the Druid King’s mafia, or a suspect in the murder of Junior, the Devil’s oldest hell spawn.

In a last ditch effort to save her life and get out of her deal with the Devil, she sets out to solve Junior’s murder only to be taken prisoner by the four most dangerous immortal hell spawn alive.

Not to be out done, the Pagan Queen Mab, claims Claire for entering her realm uninvited. She has an old debt to settle with her brother the Devil. Taking Claire from him after losing her years ago is just icing on the cake.

Will Claire win her freedom, and save herself from the Devil? Or be trapped by Mab forever?

Top 10 Things Readers Should Know About the Villains (the quads)

1. The quadruplets, Cinnamon, Sage, Sorrel, and Mace are over 500 years old. They are half-pagan half-demon hellspawn and look to be in their mid-twenties.

2. Mace is the youngest, and the one to avoid if possible. He has some serious daddy issues and is obsessed a bit with Claire because of them.

3. Cinnamon is the oldest and most level headed. She and Mace look the most like their mother (pagan—drop dead gorgeous), but she is so self-involved she really couldn’t care less about anything but herself.

4. Sage and Sorrel are identical twins and the middle two … they are beautiful, but look too much like their father (the Devil) to be mistaken for full pagans.

5. Sage has a few anger management issues he needs to work out, and generally has no concern for Claire. He appears to hate all of his siblings, but he really has a soft spot for his twin.

6. Sorrel has been trying to get into Claire’s pants from day one, but he has so far been unsuccessful. He often feels overlooked, as if Sage gets all the attention.

7. Their mother, who isn’t mentioned much in book one, has a talent for knowing how to save her children—she will go to great lengths and not care who dies in the process—I should mention she has another child, which we’ll learn about in book two.

8. Due to the laws of magic and how they are shared and acquired, the quads are very powerful in their own right, but working together, they are virtually unstoppable.

9. Mace is the reason The Boss sends Quaid to handle hellspawn business, after what Mace did to Claire in their last meeting, he was punished, but clearly didn’t learn his lesson.

10. Cinnamon is a bad-ass that the others shouldn’t piss off—and under no circumstance should you ever force her to wear a toga.
